Tools that are only in the “Course Tools” area of Blackboard are not visible to students. If you want students to access a tool, you need to add a link to the tool in the course sidebar. To add a tool to the course sidebar, follow the steps below!
- At the top of the course sidebar is a small (+) icon. Click that, then click “Tool Link.”
- Give the tool a name and choose the tool that you want to link from the drop-down menu “Type.” Check the “Available to Users” box to make the tool available to students, then click “Submit.”
- To move the tool’s position in the course sidebar, click and drag the small arrows on the far left of the tool to the position you want on the sidebar.
