Using Blackboard's rich content editor (RCE), you can add images to announcements, item descriptions, assignment descriptions, and more. To add images using the RCE, follow the steps below!
- Click the three dots “⋯” on the far right of the RCE toolbar to display all options.
- Click the (+) icon on the far right of the second row of icons on the RCE toolbar, then click “Insert Local Files”.
- Find the image you would like to add, and select it.
- The image you selected will appear in the editor.
- Next, add alt text to your image, which will provide a description that assists students who use a screen reader and can’t “see” the image. Right click the image and click “Image…”
Need help writing alt text, or want more information on why it’s important? Learn more here →
- Type alt text in the “Alternative description” box, then click “Save.”
QILT is here to help you and answer any questions you may have. Schedule a consultation with the team!
