Dear Colleagues,
We hope your Spring courses are off to a great start for both you and your students! Below is the latest information regarding our ongoing Canvas migration process. As a reminder, the Canvas page on our website contains the most up-to-date information!
Workshops This Month
Thank you to the 90+ faculty and staff who joined us for a Canvas Essentials workshop in January! We’re excited to hold more sessions of the workshop this month. Join us for one of the following sessions if you are able:
- February 11, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Zoom)
- February 28, 9:45 – 11:15 a.m. (Zoom)
Click here to register for either session. These sessions are open to all faculty and staff. As part of your registration, we will create a sandbox (blank course) for you to follow along, while we guide you through Canvas.
If you can’t join us for either session, you can access a recording of a session here. If you’d like a sandbox (blank course) to explore while you watch the recording, you can request one here. We’ll also continue to offer these workshops in the coming months, and we hope you’ll join us then!
Summer 2025 Opt-In
- Deadline to opt-in your course(s) for Summer 2025: February 13
- For faculty who’ve already opted in: Check your email
If you are interested in teaching your Summer course(s) in Canvas, please submit your interest using our Canvas Request Form by February 13. Courses submitted after February 13 will not be considered for the Summer opt-in process. Please be sure to be in touch with your program/department/school leadership related to opting in.
Please check your email for a message from a member of our team and respond by February 13. We need to confirm that we can accommodate your course(s) in Canvas and gather information about any LTI tools you use (e.g., YuJa, Perusall, Cengage, Pearson). Once we hear back from you, we’ll complete the necessary checks and follow up with the next steps related to content migration.
Sandboxes
A sandbox is a blank course for you to explore Canvas with – create an example module, assignment, quiz, or discussion board. You can request a sandbox here.
More information about the migration beyond Summer 2025 will be communicated in the coming months. Please use our Canvas Request Form to submit any Canvas-related questions, comments, or requests to our team.
Thank you for your ongoing engagement and enthusiasm about Canvas and the new possibilities it brings our community!
