By centering faculty needs, we contribute to an environment in which every Quinnipiac student has an exceptional learning experience.
What We Do
Quinnipiac Innovations in Learning and Teaching (QILT) serves all faculty across Quinnipiac University by leading initiatives focused on teaching excellence, learning design, learning media, and learning technology. As a unit in the Office of the Provost, our goal is to offer faculty the tools, support, and professional development opportunities necessary to foster a culture of teaching excellence and innovation, thrive in their roles as educators, and maintain overall well-being in their careers.
To accomplish this, we:
- Offer department, school, and institution-wide workshops, individual consultations, guides, resources, and other initiatives focused on new technologies, evidence-based pedagogies, curricular design, and topics in response to faculty interest and higher education trends. See information on workshops and events we hold and schedule a time to meet with us
- Promote and support course design and delivery across all modalities with a full suite of learning design services, media production expertise, and knowledge of best practices in pedagogies. Learn more about the services we offer faculty
- Monitor, test, and integrate new learning technologies, including the learning management system, that enable faculty innovation, student engagement, and overall success. Explore the platforms and tools we support and learn more about our learning management system, Canvas
- Provide welcoming spaces and opportunities for faculty to experiment, troubleshoot, ask questions, and build community with one another around teaching. See what’s coming up in our News & Notes newsletters and explore troubleshooting resources in our Knowledge Base
- Blend in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous engagement opportunities and resources that both anticipate and respond to faculty questions and interests. Browse our Teaching & Learning resources and see upcoming events
- Support grant-funded faculty development programs. Connect with our Faculty Advancement in Teaching Excellence area
- Meet faculty where they are, listening to their needs and concerns, and offer tailored support to help them get to where they want to be. Schedule a time to meet with us or submit a request
