Dear Faculty and Staff,
As discussed yesterday during the Faculty Senate meeting and highlighted in the email from Provost Liebowitz and Assistant Provost Nemeroff last night, Quinnipiac has officially chosen Canvas as our new Learning Management System (LMS).
The Canvas page on our website has additional information about Canvas, the migration, workshops, answers to frequently asked questions, and a link to our Canvas Request form, which can be used for all Canvas-related requests and questions.
We'll remain in communication with you throughout the migration process, and keep the Canvas page on our website up to date.
What You Need to Know Today
- The migration from Blackboard to Canvas will take at least one year, tentatively completed by the Fall 2026 term at the earliest.
- Faculty can use our Canvas Request Form to opt-in to run their course(s) in Canvas for the Summer 2025 term. This is optional.
- Faculty can also request a sandbox in Canvas by using our Canvas Request Form.
- QILT is hosting in-person and virtual office hours on 12/3 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. and 12/9 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Click here to register if you plan to attend. For virtual attendance, the Zoom information will be e-mailed to you after you register.
- We will share further information related to the migration of Blackboard organization sites soon.
Please use our Canvas Request Form to contact our team for Canvas-related questions or comments.
We continue to work closely with offices, departments, and school leadership across the University, and will continue to have faculty involvement in the process.
We look forward to supporting you during this migration process to Canvas and beyond!
