Creating a Graded VoiceThread Assignment
- Navigate to the “Assignments” area of your course.
- Create a new assignment by using the blue "+ Assignment" button in the top right.
- Name the assignment and write a description if you choose. Indicate points and the assignment group this should belong to.
- Under Submission Type, select “External Tool” from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the “Find” button.
- Click on “VoiceThread.”
The “Choose an activity type” screen will appear. Select “Assignment Builder” and then decide whether it should be a Create, Comment, or Watch assignment.

Adding an Ungraded VoiceThread to a Module
If you want to add an ungraded VoiceThread to a module, select the “+” at the top of the module, select “External Tool” from the drop-down menu, and select “VoiceThread”
