Podcast Summary
On Academic Technology’s podcast Beyond the Technology, Frances Rowe spoke with Linda Iadarola, Teaching Professor of Biology at Quinnipiac. Linda shared valuable insights about a pedagogical change to assessment she and her colleagues made in BIO150 and 151. In addition to traditional assessments such as written chapter summaries, students were given choices where they could use their creative side to demonstrate their understanding of the material.
Students are embracing technology that they are familiar with and helps them engage in their learning e.g. drawing with tablets, recording videos or creating games. – Linda Iadarola
