Rise courses can be added to Canvas courses for your students to view and complete. It’s a great tool for creating interactive asynchronous lessons and for tracking student completion. Here are instructions for adding your Rise content to Canvas:

1. In Rise, select “Publish” from the upper right of your course, and choose “LMS”.

2. Choose:
• LMS: “xAPI”
• Set tracking options as desired
• Turn “Exit Course Link” on
• Click “Publish” to generate the .zip file

3. Save the ZIP file to your computer without extracting it.
4. Navigate to your Canvas course.
5. Click “Settings” in the course navigation menu.
6. Click “Navigation” at the top of the page.
7. Scroll down to “SCORM” in the list of disabled navigation items at the bottom, click the three vertical dots “⋮”, and then click Enable.

8. Click “SCORM” in the course navigation menu.
9. Click “Upload” and select your .zip SCORM package.

10. After the file uploads, click “Choose import type…” and choose whether to import it as:
• Graded Assignment (recommended to track completion, you can adjust later to not count towards final grade)
• Ungraded Assignment
11. Click “Go”.
12. Navigate to “Assignments” in the Course Navigation Menu. The Rise course will now appear as an assignment located in the first assignment group at the top.
13. Open the assignment for the Rise module and click “Edit Assignment Settings” in the top right corner.

14. Choose:
• Select which Assignment Group the Rise should belong to.
• If you want this Rise lesson to not count towards the final grade, check the box for “Do not count this assignment towards the final grade”; otherwise, leave it unchecked.
• Under “Submission Type”, click “Load This Tool in a New Tab.”
• Click “Save and Publish”

15. Add the Rise course to a Module
• Navigate to “Modules” in the Course Navigation Menu
• Find the Module you want to add the Rise to and click the + button in the top right of the module
• Select “Assignment” from the dropdown menu, click on the Rise lesson’s name and click “Add Item”.
