YuJa quizzes can be used as a way to make videos more interactive by assessing students during or after a video, and YuJa playback quizzes can be used to ensure students watch the majority of a video.
To add YuJa quizzes or playback quizzes as graded items in Canvas, follow these steps:
Step 1: Add the YuJa Quiz as a Canvas Assignment
- In your Canvas course, in the course navigation menu, click Assignments.
- Click “+ Assignment”
- Enter the Assignment Details
- Title it clearly (e.g., Module 1: Lecture)
- Add instructions for your students in the description box.
- Set Submission Type to “External Tool”
- Scroll down to Submission Type, choose “External Tool.”
- Click “Find,” then choose “YuJa Media.”
- Select Your YuJa video quiz
- In the YuJa Media Chooser pop-up, select “Quizzes,” then find the quiz or playback quiz.
- Click the video to embed it into the assignment.
- Set the point value, due date, and assignment group as needed.
- Click “Save.”
Step 2: Add the YuJa Video Quiz to a Module
- In your Canvas course, click Modules from the course navigation menu.
- Locate the module where you want to add the video quiz, and click the plus (+) icon.
- Select “Assignment” from the dropdown.
- From the list of assignments, select the YuJa video quiz you created, then click “Add Item.”
- (Optional) Drag the item to reorder it within the module if needed.
- Publish the assignment (make it visible to students) by clicking the strike-out circle on the right to turn it to a green checkmark.
