YuJa quizzes can be used as a way to make videos more interactive by assessing students during or after a video, and YuJa playback quizzes can be used to ensure students watch the majority of a video.

To add YuJa quizzes or playback quizzes as graded items in Canvas, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add the YuJa Quiz as a Canvas Assignment

1. In your Canvas course, in the course navigation menu, click Assignments.

2. Click “+ Assignment”

3. Enter the Assignment Details
• Title it clearly (e.g., Module 1: Lecture)
• Add instructions for your students in the description box.
4. Set Submission Type to “External Tool”
• Scroll down to Submission Type, choose “External Tool.”

• Click “Find,” then choose “YuJa Media.”

5. Select Your YuJa video quiz
1. In the YuJa Media Chooser pop-up, select “Quizzes,” then find the quiz or playback quiz.
2. Click the video to embed it into the assignment.

6. Set the point value, due date, and assignment group as needed.
7. Click “Save.”

Step 2: Add the YuJa Video Quiz to a Module

1. In your Canvas course, click Modules from the course navigation menu.

2. Locate the module where you want to add the video quiz, and click the plus (+) icon.

3. Select “Assignment” from the dropdown.
4. From the list of assignments, select the YuJa video quiz you created, then click “Add Item.”

5. (Optional) Drag the item to reorder it within the module if needed.
6. Publish the assignment (make it visible to students) by clicking the strike-out circle on the right to turn it to a green checkmark.
