The Office of Academic Integrity and Accountability (OAIA) has created a module related to the Academic Integrity and Accountability policy for faculty to import into their courses. The module has requirements set in it, allowing students to self-pace through the items.
If you have questions about the module, please contact OAIA →
Order of Items
- Students must start the module by reading the module’s start page.
- After reading the start page, the pre-survey “quiz” will unlock.
- The pre-survey is worth 0 points, and, by default, does not count towards the student’s final grade in the course.
- After taking the pre-survey, the AIA and You at QU video assignment will unlock.
- Students must watch the entirety of the video.
- Completing the video earns a grade of 100 in the gradebook, which, by default, does not count towards the student's final grade in the course.
- The next item in the module is the post-video quiz. The quiz unlocks after YuJa reports to Canvas that the student has watched the entirety of the AIA and You at QU video.
- It’s possible there may be a delay between completing the video and the post-video quiz unlocking.
- The post-video quiz is auto-graded out of 100 and, by default, counts towards the student's final grade in the course.
- If you use assignment group weights, please make sure to read the note at the end.
- The last item, a module complete page, will unlock after the post-video quiz is completed.
Importing the Module into Your Course
To import the Academic Integrity and Accountability Canvas module into your course, follow the steps below.
- Open Canvas and select Commons from the global navigation.

- If Commons asks you to authorize access to your Canvas account, select “Authorize”.
- In the Commons search bar, type “academic integrity” (1) and select the “Academic Integrity & Accountability & You @ QU” module (2).

- A preview of the module will show on the left. On the right, select the blue “Import/Download” button.

- Select the course(s) that you want to import the module into (1), and select the blue “Import into Course” button (2) to start the import process.

- A green banner will appear, indicating the process has started.
- Open a course that you imported the module into, and open the Modules (1) area. The module will appear (2) at the bottom of the list of modules. If you want to move it up, you can click and drag (3) to change the position.

- To allow students to progress through the module, you will need to publish the pre-survey and post-video quiz. Select the publish button associated with those two items to turn them into green checkmarks.

- The module should now appear like this, with all green checkmarks.

⚠️ If you use assignment group weights in your course: The module’s two quizzes and video assignment import into your course in an “Imported Assignments” assignment group. The pre-survey (built as one of the quizzes) is out of 0 points, and the video assignment does not count towards the student’s final grade in the course unless you choose to change this.
The post-video quiz does count towards the student’s final grade in the course unless you choose to change this, so you will need to do one of the following:
- Create an assignment group for the post-video quiz and re-weight the groups in your course to account for the new group.
- Add the post-video quiz to an existing assignment group.
