- No Generative AI Use at All
Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Co-Pilot, Gemini, Grammarly etc.) are not permitted for any aspect of course assignments or assessments. All work submitted must be solely the student’s own, without AI-generated contributions or content. Adherence to this policy is essential to maintaining academic integrity and compliance with the Law School Honor Code.
- Only Grammar/Spelling AI Tools Allowed
Students may use AI tools solely for grammar and spelling checking their assignments. AI tools used for these purposes must not generate content or assist in drafting. Any other use of AI tools is prohibited to ensure the authenticity of student work. Proper attribution of AI contributions is mandatory.
- AI Tools for Brainstorming and Outlining Only
AI tools may be used for brainstorming and outlining ideas but must not be used to draft or write any portion of assignments. Students must certify that all final content is their work and reflects their own individual analysis and understanding. Compliance with the Law School Honor Code is required. Proper attribution of AI contributions is mandatory.
- Open Use of AI for Creation and Drafting
Students may use AI tools to create and draft their work, provided that the use of such tools is fully disclosed in their submissions. Proper attribution of AI contributions is mandatory to maintain transparency and academic integrity.
