Curriculum design is a complex, involved process with many stakeholders. It can be a contentious and challenging experience that may result in significant change for faculty classroom approaches. The process also requires time and resources. Drawing on the expertise and experience of our team, let us help your program through the process of curriculum design across on-ground, online, and hybrid modalities. From data analysis and planning through course design, we understand the time and resources this takes!

Through facilitating a faculty-driven process, we can help identify challenges, opportunities, anticipate needs, and connect you with other institutional resources or partners with experience and insight that might benefit your process. Our aim is to help all stakeholders navigate the changes that may happen. and support your program’s launch of a well-designed curriculum in which your students and faculty can meet learning outcomes and thrive.

Guide a conversation among your program faculty to help brainstorm what data you need, how to access it, and how you might interpret it.
Support data-informed decision-making processes related to modalities and structures, accreditation requirements, curricular needs, and timelines.
Help you identify learning design approaches and platforms that will support your needs, walk you through technological considerations, and help organize the transition for your faculty and students.

We can:

Support your team in the process of identifying and drafting program- and course-level learning outcomes based on your expertise as well as stakeholder feedback and data.
Guide you through the process of scaffolding your courses and help you create a curriculum map that aligns courses with program-level learning outcomes.
Demonstrate course designs and technological tools for optimal on-ground and online learning experiences.
Lead a conversation to identify the best pedagogical approaches and assessment mechanisms to meet the learning outcomes and curricular structures you’ve built.
Help all faculty, including part-time faculty, understand and see themselves in the change as it takes shape.

Learning Design: Build and review Quality Matters-certified courses in Canvas; support faculty in teaching in Canvas; consult with faculty to guide them in the transition; identify and guide in the implementation of additional design tools and classroom resources.
Learning Technology: Implement technological tools within and beyond Canvas; support conversations about external tool licenses, make connections with QU information technology (IT).
Learning Media: Guide conversations with faculty on audio/visual media production, including the use of on-campus facilities and at-home resources, offer workshops and training on media-related tools within courses.
Teaching Excellence: Offer workshops, trainings, and guided conversations about the best pedagogies for your curricular needs; consult with faculty to navigate changes; help develop mechanisms for assessing the success of the curricular design and identify and act on any necessary changes along the way.
