Instructors can now excuse a group assignment for an entire group at once, rather than excusing each group member individually. Once applied, If needed, instructors can remove the “Excused” status for an individual student directly in the Gradebook. If this removal results in some students in the group remaining excused while others are not, Canvas will notify the instructor that the group has mixed excused statuses in SpeedGrader.
This option is available only for group assignments where “Assign Grades to Each Student Individually” is unchecked, meaning all members of the group receive the same grade.
