Quizzes
Canvas will release the following usability improvements for the New Quizzes tool in November. The New Quizzes tool is enabled by default.
- Rich Content Editor Tool Visibility: Tools in the rich content editor will be hidden when authoring quiz questions for simplicity, but can be easily opened when a tool is needed.
- Warning Before Exiting Quiz Attempt: Students will receive a warning before exiting a quiz to avoid accidental exits and unintended use of additional attempts (if allowed).
- Award Full Credit to All: Instructors can award full credit for a question across an entire class at once.
- Unsaved Edits Warning: Instructors will receive a warning before exiting a quiz that has unsaved question edits.
- Fill-in-the-Blank Grading Updates: Fill-in-the-blank responses are now case-insensitive by default, with an option to make them case-sensitive.
Surveys
Matching and numeric question types can now be used in graded and ungraded surveys.
Learning Mastery Gradebook
The Learning Mastery Gradebook can now be filtered by course section and student group using the options in the “Apply Filters” menu.
Rubrics
When building a Rubric, selecting the “Create from Outcome” option opens the new outcome selector instead of the legacy selector. The new Outcomes experience is enabled by default and has been in use in the “Outcomes” area of courses.
