If you are setting the same kind of accommodation exception for multiple students, differentiation tags can save you time.
- In your Canvas course, select People in the course navigation menu.
- Find the student(s) you want to tag (or use the search bar to locate them faster) and check the box next to their profile picture(s).
- Select the blue “Tag As” button, and then select the “New Tag” option.
- Type a clear tag name that you’ll recognize easily, such as Due Date Accommodation, then select the blue “Save” button. Your tag has been created and applied to the student(s) you selected!
- When you use Assign To to adjust availability dates or due dates for an assignment, quiz, or discussion, type the name of the tag in the “Assign To” field to apply the change to every student with that tag.
To add additional students to an already created tag, from within the People area of the Canvas course, check the box next to the student(s) profile picture(s), select the blue “Tag As” button, and select the tag.
